I think the key to success is vision that adjusts on the way, but doesn’t at all falter. It’s about not compromising and following your gut to a certain degree, based on knowledge, instinct, etc. And not listening to the naysayers.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m most intrigued not by fashion, but by the people behind the business of fashion. Mickey’s been around the block and he’s seen and done it all, the merchandising maverick of Jcrew, he was once at the helm of Gap in its visionary heyday of the 90s. Fashion trends and brands will come and go, but if you understand the buzz behind a business, you’ll be in it for years to come.
