China is nothing short of incredible. As a country, it is constantly evolving – and it’s doing so at such a dizzying pace it is downright mind boggling. I love how they have taken a former military industrial complex and turned it, within the span of less than 20 years, into a thriving art hub where artists, entrepreneurs and art lovers can just hang out and have coffee.. It is so at odds with its socialist past, it’s hard to imagine Mao’s China, yet this is where they constructed machinery for the state apparatus.

I suppose the history is evident in the fading slogans on the wall and the massive utilitarian spaces where people used to toil, but you also get folks sipping on san pellegrino and checking out the incredible art work.. It’s the oddest thing.
